Professional supervision sessions for medical/healthcare providers
In our professional roles we often need to show emotional and mental strength whilst caring for our patients which can sometimes be in the most traumatic of circumstances. There will be times when we are providing support through a trauma such as delivering a stillborn baby or caring for grieving parents whose baby is dying. These sorts of situations are very likely to impact on even the most experienced of us. After all we are human too.
At Abigail’s Footsteps we recognise the impact that your work can have on you both mentally and physically.
Counsellor/Psychotherapist (MBACP, MCMI, FdSc, Cert Ed)
To help with your mental welfare and general wellbeing we would like to offer you our professional support by giving you free of charge four independent, non-judgmental supervision sessions.
These sessions will be in the form of one-hour supervision/debrief session either face-to-face or via a secure on-line portal with our qualified supervisor Naomi. During these sessions you will be supported in exploring your thoughts and feelings, as well as giving you the opportunity to reflect upon how this experience may have impacted on you.
This programme will begin in September for professionals working in Kent hospitals. With a view to expand next year. If you are interested in taking up this service please email us for more details.
Feedback from healthcare professionals that have accessed our supervision...
Bereavement Lead, Darent Valley Hospital, Kent
“Bereavement care is one of the most challenging roles we provide. It is essential that maternity staff are equipped on both a practical and emotional level in order to support families following the loss of their baby during pregnancy, at birth, or very soon after.
I hope access to independent supervision sessions, provided by Naomi, through Abigail’s Footsteps, will become an integral part of our departments aim to ensure the mental wellbeing of all our staff.”
We would like to keep you updated with latest news about our work and how you can help support us through fundraising & events.
