Brighton Marathon 2020

On 19th April 2020 I will be running the Brighton Marathon to fundraise for Abigails Footsteps, in the hope of raising enough money to donate an Abi cooling cot to a hospital in need.

On 14th September 2019, our best friends Dan and Iain received the devastating news that their long awaited baby boy’s heart was no longer beating and that he would be stillborn at 35 weeks. 4 days later on the 17th September, Dan gave birth to Henry John Badham. Although the circumstances were heartbreaking, the birth was beautiful, peaceful and Henry was welcomed into the most loving environment. This was with thanks to the incredible facilities provided by Pembury hospital and a charity funded bereavement suite. Dan and Iain were able to spend two precious days with beautiful Henry, whose life was preserved in a cooling cot, as the family they had longed to be.

We would give anything to change what has happened and to take their pain away, but sadly we can’t. Instead I’m going to try to change the path of someone else who will experience baby loss by raising enough money to give a hospital in need an Abi cooling cot, which costs £2,200.

Please help me to reach my target and raise money and awareness in Henry’s name.

I’ve been ‘a runner’ for just over a year now and although I’m getting better, I’m under no illusion that a marathon is going to be insanely hard work! There will be blood, sweat and tears, and your donations and support will help make it all worthwhile.

Thank you.

Jim (and the Badhams)
