A core objective of the charity is to improve the bereavement training that midwives and care staff receive.
With this in mind we have developed an e-learning platform in conjunction with the Royal College of Nursing. To date 280 midwives have completed the training.
A recent ‘Impact on Practice Survey’, of professionals who participated in a workshop between April 2014 and March 2015 found the following…
87% said that since attending the bereavement care training, they had been in a situation where they felt the training had helped them communicate better with bereaved parents
97% agreed that attending the bereavement care training has positively impacted on their practice
90% said they had shared learning from this training with their colleagues
100% said they would recommend Sands bereavement care training to their colleagues.
The following testimonials portray the benefits the training has offered midwives…
“This course was superb and as a bereavement midwife I will be ensuring this is included as part of our mandatory update.” “This module should be compulsory for any student and qualified midwife.”
